When Judith Patrick arrived at Life Care Center of Charleston, South Carolina, on May 2, 2019, she was bedbound and unable to take care of herself.
Patrick had suffered a stroke and needed rehabilitation to be able to return home with her family.
Physical and occupational therapists helped Patrick to regain strength, balance and mobility, as well as improve her self-care skills.
“Therapy helped in every way possible,” Patrick said. “It was fantastic. Everybody seems to go the extra mile.”
According to the therapists, Patrick was able to make gains because of her hard work and openness to suggestions and feedback.
Patrick returned home on July 28. She can now manage hygiene like brushing her hair and her teeth independently, and she is at a supervision level for bathing and bed mobility. She requires minimal assistance for walking and transfers.
